Based upon the Pembroke Helmet from the 13th Century
This style of Early Medeival Great Helm (also called the Pot Helm, Barrel Helm, or Bucket Helm) is based upon the Pembroke helmet, held in the Burrell Collection, Glasgow; a later example of the period, dated to the latter end of the 12th Century. This excellent reprodution is fully padded, with a chim strap, offering excellent protection and comfort for the wearer.
This style of helm was often worn with a secret helm , a smaller, closer fitting metal skullcap, underneath.
