Jaw Bone Visor Helmet - Late Medieval period
14 GA - Reenactment battle-ready
The development of visors on Medieval helemts enabled the wearer to optimise his vision or full-face protection, depending on the circumstances he was facing. Ravencrest's full-face jawbone visor sallet enables either a view of the whole field of vision with the visor raised, and excellent protection for the face and neck when lowered.
Crafted in 14 GA steel, and comes with a leather chin strap and full leather lining.
Visors were a late addition to the medieval helmet and their adoption avoided the necessity for the man-at-arms to choose between protection or visibility. Our Jaw Bone Visor Helmet, crafted in 14 gauge steel provides a full field view with the visor raised and excellent face protection with the visor lowered. Full leather liner and chin strap.
Weight: 8lb 4oz or 3.5 kg
