Halberd head - Medieval 14th and15th Century

A Swiss halberd along the designs of those used against Austrian knights in the Battle of Sempach in 1386. This style of staff weapon betrays the agricultural roots of it's origin, as it does not feature the more sophisticated developments of halberds that occurred in the 15th and 16th Centuries. Suitable for reenactors portraying European Medieval periods but the Swiss were the early adopters of this style of weapon that became popular across Europe later because of the obvious advantages of power and reach it affords the combatant weiding it.
