Ravencrest Reenactment business owner Mark 'Badger' Annable has been working and participating within the UK reenactment community  for the last ten years. He specialises in the War of the Roses, Medieval and Viking periods. Mark is a well-known and familar face as a trader at premier events such as the Tewkesbury Medieval Festival, Kelmarsh Festival of History and and Bosworth Battle Anniversary Reenactment, and specialist fair, 'The Original Reenactors Market' (TORM).

Ravencrest was founded out of a frustration of being unable to source high-quality, unique, reenactment armour, weaponry, clothing, shoes and equipment at a reasonable price with the essential of excellent customer service. Mark has extensive experience developing and sourcing products, and working with manufacturers to create an authentic product. This is reflected across our own brand 'Traders of History' currently producing shoes across Viking, Medieval and Anglo-Saxon eras and practical reenactment dagger blades. Together with our own lines, we of course feature well-known and loved brands such as Hanwei, GDFB and Get Dressed for Battle. We combine these with handpicked and 'hard-to-find' suppliers who are experts in their area of history and methods of manufacture.

Rather than just buying from wholesalers and offering the same lines as many other online reenactment retailers, our strength, we feel, lies in our uncommon combination of varied product range and first hand knowledge and experience. We go to the same shows as you, practise and refine the same living history and fighting skills and experience, and thus can advise and understand what you need and how you want it.

Ravencrest has supplied reenactment equipment and supplies to an national and international customer base for the last seven years, both individuals and organisations, such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, Leeds Armoury, Alnwick Castle, Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, English Heritage and the BBC. We strive to be the best in the business and welcome any and all comments about how we might be able to achieve this goal.

Mark Annable - Team UK Captain

Mark's latest project is as the Captain of the United Kingdom team for the international full-contact, Medieval fighting tournament 'Battle of the Nations'. Mark led the first entry of the United Kingdon in the World Championships in May 2013, achieving the fantastic result of winning 'Best Country Team Debut' award and finishing a respectable eighth out of twenty-four teams in the 5v5 bouts. Mark is involved in every aspect of the team's planning and execution and has been featured heavily in the UK Press in the last 6 months including a Daily Mail article, BBC World Radio interview, being filmed for Channel 8 (Australia) and also the subject of a BBC 3 programme with the rest of the team, to be aired in the Autumn of 2013.

Our business recently closed down from our retail premises in Burton upon Trent, which continues to be our registered office for the time being. We shall be concentrating purely on supplying our products online, both here and via our Ebay shop, as well as continuing to attend events and fairs in the UK, and further afield across Europe. We hope to see you, or be in touch very soon, either here or on the battlefield.
