Hour glass gauntlets offer wrist protection by deflecting the blow away from the wrist and arm. Sources for this type of design include those in the Churburg Castle, an example from the Matsch family Milan (1390) and the tombstone of Count Johan II of Katzenelenbogen in the Basilica of the Monastery Eberbach.
The fully articulated versions are an early version of the plate gauntlet which consisted of many overlapping plates attached to a leather backing, creating a curved, fully articulated finger protection. These can be found in many English paintings of the second quarter of the 14th Century and in the provided source here; a pair of gauntlets from the funeral gifts of Sir Edward Blackett, buried in the north transept of Ripon Cathedral.
Hand measurements must be provided for this item. Please see the explanation guide on the product page.

I placed my order for my armour with Ravencrest in time for the Battle of the Nations World Championship. The armour itself fitted like a glove and not once did it give me any problems or played on my mind before competing. My measurements were to the letter, which I was worried about. I've worn armour in the past that didn't quite fit and changes the way you move.. Overall, well happy with the build quality. It was not damaged during the tournament and took twenty minutes for my squire to fit to my body. Excellent service!
