Excellent quality, sturdy leather Medieval riding boots, featuring four straps along the lower and upper leg and double 'D' brass buckles, which close at the side. These boots can be worn fully extended up the leg (as shown in the pictures) or folded down below the knee as per the three musketeers (we have not photographed this as we do not wish to crease the leather). The upper part of the boot that encases the leg is very loose, allowing the wearer to put them on easily. The excess is then folded at the front part of the boot and secured with the leather straps, according to the preference of the wearer. These boots are worn throughout the 'War of the Roses' Federation and the Medieval Siege Society, and have been purchased by the Royal Shakespeare Theatre (RSA) and the Crucible in Sheffield. Leather uppers with glued and nailed soles. Part machine sewn, some hand sewn parts. Sizes available 5 to 16; however these do deplete as they are bought, if in doubt please contact us for advice. We recommend purchasing one size larger than your standard shoe size as the traditional construction means that the shoe gradually fits your feet. This extra space helps this process. Colours green, red and black are made to order with a 6-8 week wait (approx). Please check with your authenticity officer for your reenactment period to ensure these are suitable prior to purchase. |
